Responding to the May 2013 Oklahoma Storms
The news of the recent tornados in Oklahoma continues to amaze us. The devastation of the storms and the tragedy of loss pulls at our hearts. The immediate response of volunteers has been overwhelming, but there will need to be a sustained level of partnership for recovery.
Lott Carey is communicating and coordinating with our Disaster Response Partners to ensure that our resources are targeted to the places and people who will need it most. Our experience internationally and domestically teaches us that resources will be abundant for some, but there are always people who live in marginal settings without access to the people and processes to bring them relief and to help them recover. This is where Lott Carey consistently targets our support – at the margins were people are most vulnerable.
You can make an impact in the lives of people at the margins who will be struggling to recover from the storms. Our disaster response mantra is:
“Helping people rise again.” That is what we will do for our siblings in Oklahoma.
Make an online contribution or send your gift to Lott Carey designated for “Oklahoma Disaster Response” to help keep someone from falling off the edge.
