Program Description
Prevention education program to increase awareness and, therefore, to prevent
the further spread of HIV/AIDS among African Americans and other communities of color

 


Program Goals

  1. Information is provided in brochures and Prevention Education Presentations
  2. Only church in Columbus that is a certified testing spot
  3. Participated in National Black HIV/AIDS awareness day and in the Black Church week of prayer
  4. A "Balloon Launch" memorializing those who had lost their battle with HIV/AIDS and honoring those still in the battle

 



Program Benefits
1. The health fairs have been met with a positive response
2. More members of the congregation want to get involved
3. People who are infected are glad the church educates those who are not infected and other faith-based organizations

Focus on reducing the risks of HIV/AIDS in the high-risk urban communities in Ragubir Nagar Transit Camp and around Delhi

  2. Holding awareness programs with special attention toward youth

Program Description
To mobilize Enon’s congregation into one that is health-conscious; physically, emotionally and spiritually.

 

Program Goals

  1. To educate/train people infected and affected by HIV/AIDS
  2. To combat the ever growing impacts of this pandemic disease in our community.

 

Progam Benefits

  1. Collaborating with a number AIDS Services Organizations and pharmaceutical companies
  2. Providing monthly support groups for those infected and affected by HIV/AIDS
  3. Providing monthly testing and counseling by certified testing programs
  4. Providing ongoing education, training and outreach at Enon and in the City of Philadelphia
  5. Hosting Annual Carnival For A Cure on Enon’s athletic field- a community and city-wide effort seeks to increase HIV/AIDS awareness/education and testing along with a fun-filled day of rides and entertainment.

 

Future Goals

  1. Continuing Efforts of the Ministry:
  2. Participate in local, national, and international HIV/AIDS initiatives
  3. Development of health initiatives in collaboration with other faith communities
  4. Development of a more comprehensive training model for ministry teams and members; and

Provide testing for individuals, targeting 25-44 year old heterosexual women and prevention education for grades 9-12

 

Program Goals

  1. To test roughly 1,500 people per year
  2. To counsel high school students
  3. To engage Black churches with “Faith-based-Circle of Care” Project
  4. To train stylists at beauty salons to talk to their clients about the epidemic during the normal course of conversation 

 

Program Benefits

  1. 7,000 men and women in various age groups have been tested and counseled
  2. More than 5,000 high school students have been counseled
  3. Trained three churches in their first year
  4. Trained three beauty salons in the inner city of Cleveland 

 

Future Goals

  1. To train five additional churches in their second year
  2. To continue to grow all their different models in the next year
