The Lott Carey Women’s Auxiliary seeks to mobilize Christian women to engage in missions around the world.  The core foci of the Women’s Auxiliary are to:

  • Advance the missional thrust of Lott Carey,
  • Execute short-term missions assignments,
  • Support special missions projects, and
  • Recruit others for membership in Lott Carey

See our brochure here.

A special project priority of the Lott Carey Women’s Auxiliary is our Anti-Human Trafficking Initiative.  This Initiative began by mobilizing women to pray for and work for women and children who are forced into prostitution.  The project has evolved to lead Lott Carey to help churches and communities to:

  • Broaden Awareness
  • Inspire Prayer
  • Provide Support
  • Do Advocacy

We currently are supporting two programs with international partners in South Africa and Ethiopia.

  • Teen Challenge/Home of Hope SA – Western Cape in South Africa a is a non–profit and non-governmental organization established to rescue children, youth and young adults from the traps of drug abuse, gangs, prostitution, and human trafficking. Since its inception in 1998, Teen Challenge SA – Western Cape has actively engaged in prevention, early intervention and intervention programs for schools, churches, government departments etc.

Its 14-month residential program offers hope and help, freedom and success to both men and women.  The “Home of Hope” is home to many who do not know what it is to be treated like a people of value who are created by God for a purpose. It is here where many found themselves and where they found Jesus Christ.

In addition to Lott Carey partner support, Teen Challenge SA – Western Cape is enlarging its scope of work through a generous grant from Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

  • The African AIDS Initiative International in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to works to prevent HIV/AIDS infection and to give women engaged as Commercial Sex Workers better opportunities for sustaining their lives and families.  This project is helping commercial sex workers lead decent and productive lives where they will be able to avoid dependency on sex work for survival.

The project enhances access to basic necessities of life of the target population and helps to provide long-term income generating opportunities.  Specifically, we

    • Improve the self-esteem of commercial sex workers so that they will be able to resist possible discrimination and prejudice
    • Enhance the knowledge and skills of sex-workers on the transmission and prevention mechanisms of HIV/AIDS
    • Help sex workers to liberate themselves from the hazardous and humiliating source of living, i.e., sex work; by providing alternative sources of income

Donate to support this effort to care for survivors and to end the scourge of human trafficking - modern day slavery.

    The Tamar Campaign

The Tamar Campaign, a project developed by The Fellowship of Christian Councils and Churches in the Great Lakes and The Horn of Africa (FECCLAHA), seeks to close the gap of silence that exists in the church concerning Gender Based Violence (GBV).  Regretably, the church has largely been silent and hardly participates in shunning this vice. Our goal is to end Gender Based violence.

This Contextual Bible Study Manual on Gender-Based Violence is a tool to help Christians fight to end Gender-Based Violence.  We invite you - urge you - to use this manual in small groups for maximum learning and growing.
